New Resource: “Pray For Us & Tell Our Stories” – A Bible Study with the Anglican Church of Melanesia

Published: May 20, 2026

MMUK is delighted to share a new free resource designed to deepen understanding, inspire prayer, and strengthen connection across the Anglican Communion.

“Pray For Us and Tell Our Stories” is a six-session Bible study course written by Rev’d Rich Clarkson, drawing on his time spent with the Anglican Church of Melanesia in 2025. It is rooted in a simple but powerful invitation from the Archbishop of Melanesia, the Most Revd Leonard Dawea: “Pray for us, and tell our stories.”

Through six accessible sessions, the study offers a glimpse into the life, faith, and challenges of the Anglican Church of Melanesia. It brings together history, personal encounters, scripture and prayer, helping participants engage spiritually and relationally.

Participants are invited to journey through:

  • The foundations of the Anglican Church in Melanesia, through Bishop Selwyn and Bishop Patteson
  • The faithful witness of the religious communities
  • The empowering work of the Mothers’ Union
  • The vital role of education and schools
  • Stories of refuge, care, and community life
  • And the urgent call to care for creation in the face of the climate emergency

Each session combines:

  • A Bible passage to ground reflection
  • A real-life story or encounter from Melanesia
  • Discussion questions to explore
  • And prayer points to guide response

This structure makes the resource ideal for church groups, lent or study courses, school or youth settings, and individuals wanting to deepen their understanding of global mission. At its heart, the course reminds us that we are part of one body in Christ, connected across cultures and continents.

What makes this resource particularly powerful are the real stories it shares. We hear stories of communities facing rising sea levels, the Seven Martyrs who gave their lives for peace, women transforming lives through the Mothers’ Union, and schools nurturing hope despite climate and economic challenges. These stories are both inspiring and challenging. They remind us that faith is lived out in real communities, often in difficult circumstances, but always with hope.

At MMUK, we believe that relationships are at the heart of mission. Resources like this bring those relationships to life, bridging the distance between the UK and the Pacific.

“Pray for us, and tell our stories.” May this resource help us do exactly that.

MMUK is deeply grateful for Revd Rich Clarkson for creating this Bible study, and for continuing to share stories and insights, following his visit to Melanesia.
