Tropical Cyclone Lola was one of the earliest recorded tropical cyclones of the season to sweep though Vanuatu and Solomon Islands on 24th October. The Cyclone 5 storm caused damage to buildings and crops. Communities are now facing the challenges of rebuilding homes, schools and churches, and with food shortages, as crops regrow. MMUK has sent £2,300 in emergency funds to ACoM to help communities in the Dioceses of Temotu in Solomons and the two dioceses in Vanuatu.

More intense cyclones are one of the impacts of climate change, and these disasters are impacting the Pacific at an alarming rate. As world leaders and interested parties gather for COP this week in Dubai, we pray that all nations and businesses accept their global responsibility to care for creation, for the benefit of all.
