Join Us for the 2025 MMUK Lent Reflections Series on YouTube

Published: February 12, 2025

This Lent, the Melanesian Mission UK (MMUK) invites you to deepen your faith and understanding of Melanesian Christianity through our special Lent Reflections series. This year, the reflections are led by the Rt Revd Willie Pwaisiho, who brings his profound insights and experiences to each session.

Each week’s reflection provides a unique perspective on faith, fostering spiritual growth during this sacred season. By participating, we hope you will gain a deeper appreciation for Melanesian Christianity and its rich traditions. Furthermore, these reflections offer an opportunity to join a global community of believers, united in our journey through Lent and strengthening our collective faith.

The series will be posted weekly on the charity’s YouTube channel beginning on Ash Wednesday – www.youtube.com/@TheMelanesianMission

A Prayer for Our Lenten Journey

Heavenly Father,

As we embark on this sacred journey through Lent, we come before You with open hearts and minds. We thank You for the opportunity to reflect, repent, and renew our spirits. Guide us through each reflection, and may the words of Bishop Willie Pwaisiho inspire and deepen our faith.

Lord, help us to understand the significance of ash and the humility it represents. Lead us from the darkness of fear into the light of Your love. Open our hearts to hear Your voice in the beauty of nature, the abundance of Your blessings, and the protection You provide.

We celebrate the gift of dance and the joy it can bring to our worship. Teach us to live sacramentally, recognising Your presence in every moment of our lives. As we reflect on the profound connection between blood and life, remind us of the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and the eternal life it brings.

May this Lenten season be a time of spiritual growth and a deeper connection to You. Unite us as a community of believers, and strengthen our commitment to the Melanesian Mission’s work.

In Your holy name, we pray.

Amen.
