Building the Future: Relocating Bishop Patteson Theological College

Published: June 22, 2026

For over 175 years, Bishop Patteson Theological College (BPTC) has played a vital role in forming leaders for the Anglican Church of Melanesia. Generations of women and men have been equipped for ministry, discipleship, and service, faithfully continuing God’s mission across the Pacific.

Today, an exciting new chapter is unfolding.

Plans are underway to relocate Bishop Patteson Theological College to a new site, with 167 hectares of land available to support not only the college’s future growth but also the longer term vision of a potential university. This project represents a significant investment in theological education, leadership formation, and the strengthening of the Church in Melanesia for generations to come.

The vision for the new college is deeply rooted in faith. It aims to be more than just buildings, it will be a place of learning, prayer, wisdom, and discipleship. A place where future leaders are shaped in the love of Christ and equipped to serve their communities with compassion, courage, and hope.

At the heart of this initiative is a call to prayer.

We invite you to join in praying for this important project:

Gracious God,

We give thanks for the Anglican Church of Melanesia,

through which faithful women and men are called

to serve you and to continue your mission in the world.

Bless the vision to build the relocated

Bishop Patteson Theological College.

May it be a place of learning, prayer, wisdom,

and discipleship, where future leaders are formed

in the love of Christ and equipped for ministry

throughout the Pacific.

Guide all who support this project with

generosity and hope. Strengthen your Church

in Melanesia, and through this college, raise up

faithful servants who will proclaim the Gospel

and build your Kingdom for generations to come.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord,

Amen.

Your prayers are essential as this vision takes shape, prayers for wisdom, provision, leadership, and the many people who will be involved in bringing it to fruition.

In the coming months, more information will be shared about how individuals, churches, and communities can become involved in supporting this exciting development.

Together, we can help build a future grounded in faith, service, and hope.
