On 16th September MMUK supporters gathered at Chester Cathedral for the charity’s AGM and Festival Day. At the AGM the charity’s accounts and annual report were presented and accepted by Supporters. Also at the AGM Revd Martin Cox stepped down as Trustee and Mr Colin Butler from Devon was elected as Trustee for three years. Ven Dr Mike Gilbertson from Chester was re-elected as Trustee for three years and Canon Jane Brooke also from Chester, for one year. The charity still has a Trustee vacancy, and is looking for someone with a passion for fundraising. Could this be you or someone you know?

In the afternoon there were presentations from Brs Christopher John and Worrick from the Society of St Francis on their logging advocacy work in Solomons, an update on the Environment Observatories from MMUK’s Care for Creation Officer, Marie Schlenker and news from the region from MMUK’s Katie Drew. Time was also given to celebrating the Chester Melanesia link, which has benefitted people in many ways in Melanesia and the Diocese of Chester over the last 35 years.

The 2024 AGM & Festival Day will be on Saturday 21st September from 11am – 4pm at Chapel of St Michael, St John’s Foundation, Bath. We hope you can join us.
