Sustaining Support for the Sisters of Melanesia

The Melanesian Mission UK (MMUK) extends its deepest thanks to all our supporters and Associates who have faithfully contributed to the well-being of the Community of the Sisters of Melanesia in Solomon Islands.

Thanks to your generosity, MMUK has been able to send £250 each month to the Community, enabling the Sisters and Novices to enjoy regular lunches—something that was once out of reach due to financial constraints. This support has been ongoing for some time now, and it has made a profound difference in the daily lives of the Community.

Before this assistance began, the Sisters often went without lunch, impacting their health, energy, and ability to fully participate in their spiritual and communal life. Your continued support has brought nourishment, dignity, and joy to their days.

However, with rising food prices in Solomon Islands, the current monthly support is struggling to meet the Community’s needs. MMUK is now seeking to increase this monthly contribution from £250 to £300 to ensure that the Sisters and Novices can continue to receive lunch every day.

Without this increase, the Community may once again face the hardship of going without midday meals.
